As part of the European Capital of Culture, Liverpool, England was the host city for the Tall Ship Race, 2008.

Over seventy vessels graced the port and its docks for four days. 18th to 21st July 2008.

The star attraction was the "Christian Radich" made famous in the Cinemiracle production "Windjammer" in 1958.

Christian Radich in the Welington Dock. Images courtsey Keith Swadkins and Mike Taylor

Christian Radich has visited England on numerous occasions. On this visit to Liverpool, Keith Swadkins and his wife Brenda, and Mike Taylor - all members of The International Cinerama Society [sat up in 1985] joined the public on board for the open day tour.

Allthough there was no reference to the film "Windjammer" we did find the detailed Trustees plaque and he name Louis de Rochemont, producer of the film.
