This is one of four vehicles constructed for the 1965 Jack Lemmon, Tony Curtis and Nathalie Wood film "The Great Race", a slapstick parody of the 1908 New York-to-Paris race. In the livery of Professor Fate, Jack Lemmon's character in the film, the car has a a scissor-lift on the 6-wheel chassis. This enables the body to rise up for special effects. Powered by a six-cylinder Corvair air-cooled engine, the four rear wheels are driven by dual chains.
