What follows is a chronology of 5-perf 70-millimeter and Cinerama
presentations in the Baltimore region. The majority of the titles featured in this chronology showcased some flavor of stereophonic sound (six-track for 70mm and seven-track for Cinerama). The 70mm prints issued from the late 1970s typically were encoded with Dolby Noise Reduction and often included baby boom low-frequency enhancement and occasionally split surrounds. Most of the recently-struck prints featured digital sound (DTS aka Datasat). This draft excludes 70mm blow-ups, IMAX and other Special Venue presentations. Roadshows in 35mm have also not been included. (Some or all of these details will be added in a forthcoming revision.) The roadshows (i.e. reserved-seat engagements) have an asterisk after the applicable title. (Note that in certain instances the reserved-seat policy was relaxed during the latter weeks of the run. Any non-roadshow portion of such an engagement has been included in the duration figure.)
