The following is a reference / historical listing of the 70-millimeter
re-release engagements of “The Ten Commandments” in North America.
The Cecil B. DeMille production and Paramount release starred Charlton Heston,
Yul Brynner, Anne Baxter, Edward G. Robinson, Yvonne De Carlo, Debra Paget and
John Derek. The film was shot in VistaVision and originally released in 1956
with standard 35mm reduction prints.
The 70mm re-issue prints of “The Ten Commandments” featured Six-Track Dolby
Stereo (“A) and full-frame imagery blown up from anamorphic 35mm which in turn
had been sourced from VistaVision Large Aperture.
