technical guru during the time when Todd-AO was still affiliated with the
United Artists Theatre Corporation.

decorations, his West Point ring. The clarity of detail, despite the

"Harmony: Nature and Man" is one of the most
comprehensive documentaries on a U.S. state ever produced, to be the major
attraction of the Washington State Pavilion at the 1970 Osaka Worlds Fair in

the University of California, Dr Richard Vetter, and Carl W.
Williams. The system was a scaled-up version of an earlier
development of theirs for a driving simulator.

150 Visual Display for U.C.L.A. Driving Simulator

The U.C.L.A. Driving Simulator has been developed as a research tool
in the field of highway safety. This simulator is a projection room
in which an automobile is driven on steel rollers of a standard
chassis dynamometer while the driver views the road scene that is
projected onto a curved screen 8.5 ft in radius. The driver also
views the road scene behind him by looking through the rear-view
mirror at a motion picture projected on a screen placed beyond the
rear window of the vehicle. The field of vision of the front view is
150 deg. The projection technique used is a special type of motion
picture presentation called Dimension 150
