For
lack of US advertising, here's the Australian 7OMM Release at the Ritz in
Sydney
The following is a reference / historical
listing of the 70-millimeter presentations of “Murder on the Orient Express”
in the United States and Canada.
The 20th Century Fox release was directed by Kenneth Branagh (“Hamlet”) and
starred Tom Bateman, Kenneth Branagh, Penélope Cruz, Willem Dafoe, Judi
Dench, Johnny Depp, Josh Gad, Leslie Odom Jr., Michelle Pfeiffer and Daisy
Ridley. The film’s world premiere was held November 2nd, 2017 at Odeon
Leicester Square in London. The North American release of the film was
November 10th.
Pre-release screenings include a sneak preview November 5th at the Aero in
Santa Monica.
The 70mm prints of “Murder on the Orient Express” featured Datasat audio and
Panavision Super 70 imagery (based upon a film-out of a DI and letterboxed
at approximately 2.39:1).
CALIFORNIA
Los Angeles — ArcLight Hollywood 14 (1+)
NEW YORK
New York — Lincoln Square 13 (6)
New York — Village East 7 (5)
Note that some of the presentations included in this listing may have been
presented in 35mm or DCP during the latter week(s) of engagement due to
contractual terms or print damage and the distributor’s unwillingness to
supply a 70mm replacement print or because the booking was moved to a
non-70mm-equipped auditorium within a multiplex. In these cases, any 35mm or
DCP portion of the engagement has been included in the duration figure.
