 1928: Henri et Anne Chevereau achètent leur première caméra, une Carné-6, puis une autre, puis le premier Super Parvo Debrie et, en 1938, ce sont les débuts, parfois difficiles, de ce qui est aujourd'hui le plus impor-tant établissement d'Europe pour la location de matériel de prises de vues. Depuis, la maison, sous l'impulsion du fils des fondateurs, a pris l'impor-tance que chacun, dans la profession, connaît. Quelques dates importantes jalonnent une ascension ininterrompue. 1955: importation du premier Mitchell B.N.C., visée Reflex, l'appareil le plus facilement adaptable aux exigences du Cinémascope. André Thomas, le regretté directeur de la photographie, impose pour la première fois une Mitchell sur un film en format standard. Puis Vadim adopte la Moviola Crab DoIIy pour "Les Liaisons Dangereuses" 1962, c'est le 70mm. Premier F.B.C. utilisé pour "La Tulipe Noire" (MCS 70 - Superpanorama) par Christian-Jaque; puis les Mitchell 70mm des Etablissements Chevereau sont en Italie pour “La Bible" de John Huston, en Angleterre pour "Ces merveilleux fous volants" de Ken Annakin, en Fronce aussi, naturellement, pour "Play Time" de Jacques Tati et «La Sentinelle Endormie» de Jean Dréville. Octobre 1965 : la jeune et dynamique équipe toujours à l'affut des nouveautés, fait connaissance à Rome du remarquable chariot Spyder Elemock, appareil aussitôt adopté et rapidement en service pour «Les Créatures», «La Religieuse», «La Bourse et la vie», «Masculin-Féminin» ainsi que sur les plateaux de l'O.R.T.F. Enfin, toute dernière nouveauté, le Zoom Nipponscope 50/500 mm, s'adaptant sur Zoom Angénieux 25/250 mm aussitôt acquis a été adopté par Anatole Litvak, qui tourne actuellement à Varsovie « La nuit des généraux ». Il suffit. In 1938, the sometimes difficult beginnings of what is today Europe's largest film equipment rental company began. Since then, under the leadership of the founders' son, the company has achieved the importance that everyone in the industry recognizes. October 1965: the young and dynamic team, always on the lookout for new products, becomes acquainted in Rome with the remarkable Spyder Elemock dolly, a device immediately adopted and quickly in service for "The Creatures", "The Nun", "The Purse and Life", "Masculine-Féminin" as well as on the sets of the ORTF.
