 The following is a reference / historical listing of the 70-millimeter presentations of “One from the Heart” in North America. The film’s 70mm prints consisted of pillarboxed imagery (approximately 1.37:1) blown up from spherical 35mm photography. The audio was Six-Track Dolby Stereo (“A” encoded “baby boom” format).“One from the Heart” was among eighteen first-run films released in 1982 with 70mm prints for selected engagements. The Zoetrope production and Columbia release — directed by Francis Coppola and starring Frederic Forrest, Teri Garr, Raul Julia, Nastassia Kinski, Lanie Kazan and Harry Dean Stanton — opened February 11th, 1982. 1982-11-12 … Vancouver, BC — Vogue (5 weeks) 1983-09-09 … Cleveland, OH — Colony (2 weeks) 1983-09-23 … Columbus (Whitehall), OH — Cinema East (1 week) 1984-05-25 … Seattle, WA — Crest 4-plex (2 weeks) 1990-03-01 … Los Angeles, CA — Cinerama Dome* *Special one-night-only double-feature screening with “Apocalypse Now” celebrating the 20th anniversary of Zoetrope Studios Though not screened, a 70mm print of “One from the Heart” was present in the American Cinematheque’s Egyptian projection booth during the “Blow Your Mind: The Great Big 70mm Film Festival” which ran November 5th through the 21st, 1999. The print was standing by as a back-up in the event any of the scheduled films were not delivered or deemed too damaged to screen publicly.
