World premiere: Circlorama Theatre, Piccadilly Circus, London,
England __.__.1964. The introduction with Huw Thomas standing
with a background of Piccadilly Circus Started on one screen, he ended
by saying ‘This then is CIRCLORAMA’ all the other ten screens then
opened up one by one each side to form the complete circle accompanied
with a fanfare of music.

spread out to a 3-track mix. Music recorded in _- channels in 3x tracks
on 35mm magnetic. Original soundtrack: Not available.
Locations (by sequences): A view from inside a cage of lions (Chipperfield
circus winter qauters I remember hearing of the assassination of JFK as
I was going to the Lab to drop the rushes off so that would be
22.11.1963).
A scenic railway ride (Big Dipper) at Kersall amusment Park Southend on
Sea. A shot from the middle of the rail track at the busy Clapham Junction
during a rush hour (courtesy British Rail).
A lifeboat launch Southend lifeboat RNLI. Various shots around London, camera car was a Volkswagen Minibus with
sliding sun roof. A grand finale with ‘The Swinging Blue Jeans’ singing their hit
‘Hippy,Hippy Shake’ was filmed at the Leicester Square Ballroom,
Saturday Morning with 500 screaming teenage fans attracted by advert
that week in Evening Standard.
E type Jag and had a racing driver go round Snetterton Race track in the
middle of a gaggle of formula two cars.
Beauty contest was filmed at the Café de Paris in Coventry Street W1.
Ice skating sequence filmed at Streatham Ice rink (south London).

Technicians responsible for moving tent show from West Pier at
Blackpool to the Kelvin Hall Glasgow for Christmas season of 1965: Alan Lavender (Burgess Lane
Ltd, Chiswick, West London) and Stanley Long. Film stock: 16mm Kodak Ektachrome reversal stock. Camera system: Beaulieu 16mm 100’ loading cameras with 15mm
lenses. Running time: 20 minutes 0 seconds. ___ Metres. ____ Feet.
Notes about the filming: Film produced to be shown at the
Circlorama Theatre in Denman Street just behind Piccadilly Circus. Synopsis: The one and only British Circlorama travelogue film.
Various: A short test demonstrating the Circlorama system was
made in 35mm B&W preceding "Circlorama Cavalcade". Stan Phillips died in 1999. Arnold Miller was a Director of
Searchlight. Johnny and Benny Lee later founded Lee’s Lighting. Harry
Green died in 1984. Leon Heppner died in the eighties. Leonard Urry
retired in 1978 and went to live in Spain where he died in the mid
eighties.
