Dieter Gäbler, German DoP and well known M.C.S.-70 camera technician, passed away last Wednesday, March 06, 2014.

He was camera operator/technician at WINDJAMMER, THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF THE BROTHERS GRIMM, SAVAGE PAMPAS, FORTRESS OF PEACE and SKY OVER HOLLAND. He did the MCS-70 footage of GRAND PRIX at the Monte Carlo Location and did the MCS-70 shots of THOSE MAGNIFICENT MEN IN THEIR FLYING MACHINES. Later he worked as Producer for German television.

Dieter Gäbler was our Special Guest at the Schauburg 70mm Festival in 2006 and in 2009 and we remember him as a very passionate filmmaker and a very friendly and likable friend who was always very helpful in answering questions during our long research conversations.
