“Crossed Swords” (aka “The Prince and the Pauper”) was among nine confirmed
first-run films released in 1978 with 70mm prints for selected engagements.
The Alexander and Ilya Salkind production and Warner Bros. release was
directed by Richard Fleischer (“Doctor Dolittle,” “Tora! Tora! Tora!,” “The
Jazz Singer”) and starred Oliver Reed, Raquel Welch, Mark Lester, Ernest
Borgnine and George C. Scott.
The 70mm print(s) of “Crossed Swords” featured discrete six-track
stereophonic sound and full-frame imagery blown up from anamorphic 35mm.
