The following is a reference / historical listing of the 70-millimeter
engagements of “Kelly’s Heroes” in the United States and Canada.
The MGM release — directed by Brian G. Hutton (“Where Eagles Dare”) and starring
Clint Eastwood, Telly Savalas, Don Rickles, Carroll O’Connor and Donald
Sutherland — opened June 23rd, 1970.
The 70mm prints of “Kelly’s Heroes” featured six-track stereophonic sound and
full-frame imagery blown up from anamorphic 35mm.

PART 2: FIRST RUN
No evidence could be found confirming any first run 70mm presentations of
“Kelly’s Heroes” in the United States or Canada. (There were 70mm prints for
some international bookings.)
