Many sources suggest this was the first 70mm blow-up release (see entry for “Taras Bulba”). Some newspaper ads noted “Photographed by Leon Shamroy in Technicolor and Panavision 70” -- with the “70” notation floating in and out of the ads depending on the day and city.
Bye Bye BirdieNAPanavision6-Track StereoColumbiaUS release: April 5.  US 70mm release unconfirmed. Title is listed in the book “Wide Screen Movies.”
     Possibly 70mm test screened in the US. 70mm prints reportedly issued in parts of Europe beginning late-’63.
