“Spies Like Us” Spherical (1.85:1) Dec 6 (USA) 6-Track Stereo Warner Bros. World Premiere: Dec 3 (Los Angeles).  OAR blow-up.  Ads made no mention of sound format.  Advertised simply as “70mm.”  70mm trailer: “Wildcats.”
Star Wars Trilogy, The (Special Screening) Panavision/J-D-C Mar 28 (USA) 6-Track Dolby Stereo 20th Century Fox One time, one day-only 70mm screening of all three “Star Wars” movies in nine North American cities. Screenings held in Chicago (Carnegie Center), Dallas (North Park West), Denver (Cooper), Los Angeles (Avco Westwood & Egyptian Hollywood), New York (Warner #1), San Francisco (Coronet), Seattle (UA 150) & Toronto (Uptown).  Some theatres gave away the ‘85 “Jedi” re-issue one-sheet posters to attendees.
