Dear Thomas and Bill

I thoroughly enjoyed Bradford again this year. It was all very enjoyable and great to meet such a wonderful group of enthusiasts from all over the world again. I certainly learned a lot more about Cinerama and also found the presentation to John Harvey very moving as I suspect most others did too. I attach a number of photos as a memory of the event. I am not sure whether or not you might consider them as an image gallery of WW2010 for the in70mm.com website or not - you may already have plenty of material - if you do please credit me.

All being well there should be another report on WW2010 in the next edition of "Cinema Technology" - I will also forward a copy as a word document with pics to Thomas for possible inclusion in the website archives as Thomas did with my preceding three articles.

I will be doing an article on “Napoleon” and Polyvision and am possibly looking at investigating widescreen pre-history back a lot lot earlier than that too - will let you see that later on this year - possibly an item you might be interested in for WW2011 ?

Can I suggest screening a 70mm print of "Mutiny on the Bounty" at WW if there is one? I recently bought a DVD of this film and it looks as though it has been given the full restoration treatment - even just the std. DVD looks magnificent on my home cinema screen - I wonder if they "struck" a new 70 mm print ?

Kind regards

Mark Trumpeteler

Widescreen Weekend 2010

Hello from France,

Amongst the hundreds of people you shake hands with, I don't know if you'll remember me. but in any case, I'm a new Bradford (and French) enthusiast. We briefly met at the Omar Khan restaurant on Sunday 28th evening, just before you were leaving.

I was a first timer at the WSW and I wanted once again to congratulate you for this exceptional moment in Bradford.

I also wanted to let you know i wrote a report (in French) for the devildead.com website. It's a French website mostly dedicated to genre movies - we are 5 volunteers-redactors running it. But as I'm the widescreen film fanatic of the group, i really wanted to say something about this event - and try to get some people to come over next year.

As I quickly told you before you left , the screening of the first reel of SUSPIRIA was a high point to me - as totally unexpected! And the perspective of seeing again on a wide screen this rare 35 mm- 4 magnetic tracks copy of SUSPIRIA as it was intended to be seen would be an unmissable event for me and some people.

Best of Luck for 2010 and hopefully, see you at the next Widescreen weekend in 2011.

Best regards, Francis Barbier
